Peace is more than an absence of war
Peace is a quality of life issue.
Peace is a creative, living energy. True peace isn’t static – there is constant movement and growth in its creation. When we decide to make peace a choice, we can choose it again and again.
Having a passion for this healing vibration means you can create from an experience of having peace, rather than in response to war. What if peace were much more than just not fighting?
What if the definition of peace were to include the right to decide for oneself; the right to speak and think freely; the right to clean food, water, and air; the right to have health and good health care; the right to create; the right to love whom you choose; the right to worship what you choose; the right to pursue happiness. Peace and freedom walk hand in hand together.
Having an experience of peace can begin within you, right now. Why not start with your body?
When you consciously create a zone of peace within yourself, your body benefits. What's more, it becomes easier to have communication with your body. Your body is less stressed by whatever uncomfortable energies have been running through it. Your body is also less fearful when you transform it into a peace zone.
You don't need to wait until there are more gentle energies out there in the world. When you create that vibration within you, it spreads. Peace scales, which means it brings more peace. Before you know it, your peaceful attitude has affected the people around you. Even if it doesn't seem true to you now, know that this is stronger and more effective than anger, anxiety, and war. Your conscious contribution matters, even when it only feels like a drop in the bucket.
When holding space for peace to exist within you, just for today, or this hour, or 5 minutes straight, you affect everyone and everything around you. You have the power to change the world by choosing.
If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace. -Thich Nhat Hanh
