Every outcome begins within, or why I don’t make predictions
You are surrounded by people who make predictions.
Who’s going to win the Oscars? Which team will win the championship? What’s the weather going to be today, or the Stock market, or the housing market? Who’s going to be the next president? What’s going to happen next year?
For those who want to know what’s going to happen next, there are plenty of people willing to tell you, with much certainty, about the future.
Except.
Except that sometimes their ‘predictions’ don’t come true. Or you don’t believe them.
Or, most important of all, the prediction is self fulfilling.
Because some expert says it will happen, millions of people will align their energy to an expected outcome. When so many match their energy to the same outcome, it’s more likely to happen.
Other examples of self fulfilling prophecies include people who are told as children that they are never going to amount to anything. If someone truly believes that they are worthless, they’ll create an outcome to match. Until they do the difficult soul searching work of letting go of the programming received in childhood, they’ll feel they don’t deserve anything better, and they’ll sabotage their own success.
I’ve seen it happen.
You are surrounded by people predicting the future.
Human beings often want to know what is going to happen before they decide where they are going to direct their energy. They want to feel safe, that they are making the right choice, or that they won’t fail and be seen as foolish.
This is why people plug themselves into the outcomes decided by others. Yes, there are people out there who decide what outcomes they want to create and see. Advertising is one of the tools used by those trying to create an outcome. You are bombarded by it daily. The messages coming at you tell you it’s safer and wiser to direct your energy and attention to the ‘smart outcome’, to the ‘correct choice’.
Where’s your choice in this? Do you decide to look for yourself in order to see your future?
One of the many reasons why I don’t make predictions is that there are many futures.
Outcomes are often based on what you and I choose to do right now, in this moment.
The reason why we can’t see into every moment of what is going to be is that we have to be right here and now creating it. There’s a lot of faith involved in this, trust is a must.
In my readings, I’ll do my best to show someone that he or she is capable of creating a future, but it works better when created right here.
Creating the kind of future you want takes some spiritual work on your part.
Trust and faith are necessary, because sometimes you have to keep plugging away even when you can’t see right in front of you, and have no idea where you’re going to end up.
When people ask me ‘what’s going to happen’ when they haven’t done anything about it yet, I see that they are trying to decide whether it’s worth it to have faith in something, to listen to their heart, and to put their energy into creating what they want. It takes nerve, it takes courage, and it’s how you grow.
It’s not the outcome that matters, it’s what you learn along the way. The journey is the point of if all.
