Is it time for peace talks with your body?
Do you see your body as a ‘frienemy’?
You may have believed a lie about your body. Perhaps the lie is that it’s flawed, too thin, too fat, or just not right somehow. You may not fit into the perfect ideal presented constantly in our culture, everywhere you look. You may believe that your body is wrong, and so you fight with it, every day.
You may believe that the spirit is superior to the body, and so you leave your body to fend for itself, without listening to its cries for attention.
What if life is a party and you’re invited?
If you want to enjoy the celebration of life, you must show up in person.
It’s hard to enjoy yourself at a party when you don’t feel well, or are grappling with major issues in your life.
You don't feel like being the life of any party when you don't feel good. You don't want to be around people at all, much less a lot of them in a social situation. Your first inclination is to go home, crawl into your bed, and stay there until the storm passes.
Notes on becoming a conscious healer
There are many ways of being a healer, some of them conscious, and some not.
You can be the healer in your family, job, or group of friends, without being aware of your role.
What does this mean exactly? Well, you could be the peacemaker, or the one who keeps it together for the others. You might soak up everyone’s troubles, maybe you are the sounding board for your friends’ problems.
The work you do on you, helps you to do your work
The time you spend giving to and healing yourself, is time well invested.
Sometimes I allow myself to get so busy with my work and activities that I run myself down. I’ve been primarily self employed for most of my adult years, and in my ever present enthusiasm to create my latest thing, I shirk my responsibilities to my body from time to time.
