The ongoing conversation between my body and spirit
I have learned to listen to my body when it is telling me things.
In my younger years, I didn’t listen much at all, and didn’t even know this might be a good thing to do.
I had non stop energy and the ability to run at a very fast speed and Get A Lot Done, and so I didn’t understand or hear my body when it was talking to me. It may have tried to communicate with me quietly and politely at first, I don’t know, because I wasn’t present to hear it. I just kept doing all the things and telling my body ‘this is what we’re doing today’. I was Type A+, I mean, I had it all under control!
Creating consciously begins with your focus
You may not fully appreciate how much value there is in your focus, in what you pay attention to.
For one thing, the simple act of putting your attention onto something helps to change that thing. Your attention, your focus on a thing shifts the energy of that thing. This is called the observer effect. According to Wikipedia: “In science, the term observer effect means that the act of observing will influence the phenomenon being observed.”
When you focus consciously on something, you have an effect on it. This is because where you put your focus is where you put your energy.
It takes nerve to work for peace
Do you have the nerve to demand peace from yourself?
People who have the desire to end their inner wars, will be on the front lines of peace. The fight for peace begins within each of us. When you declare a ceasefire within yourself, you bring a peaceful vibration with you everywhere you go. It can be that easy, and there’s no need to be in effort at all.
There is a catch. The hard part is that you actually have to do it. It’s easy to set new intentions, and another thing entirely to do whatever difficult soul searching work it takes to carry them out.
If you want to heal the world, start by healing yourself
You already have what it takes to help heal the world you live in.
You can create healing on this planet. The trick is to begin with yourself, and do your own healing from within. You are not responsible for healing the rest of us, and you don’t have the power to decide who heals.
All healing is self healing, which means that others heal from within themselves too. You can never do someone else’s healing for them, because it's not your job. However, you have an important effect on how and whether others choose to heal themselves. You might be unaware of the power you possess to do this.
The treasure you’re looking for is always within you
Learning about yourself is a life long study.
There’s no limit to how far you can go, once you decide to get going on the road to self knowledge.
Like the colorful ragtag protagonists in ‘The Wizard of Oz’, you can get on your road and follow it to your own Emerald City, looking for treasure. Along the way you might run into a witch or two, as well as some other shady characters. “Oh no!” you might say, “I’m running into obstacles! Will I ever reach my treasure?”. Then one day you ‘arrive’ to find that the treasure you were looking for was always within you.
What happens when you match to the energy vibration of the world around you?
You have the ability to match to a wide range of energy vibrations.
There's an endless assortment of energetic choices available daily, and everyone of us has the ability to work with one energy vibration or another. Or maybe a few all at once.
An energy vibration is a tone or range of tones of energy. Everything and everyone has energy, it's everywhere you look. You can run the energy of your family, a friend, someone you saw in a movie, or a problem you're trying to solve.
The world changed forever when you got here
As soon as you showed up, the world you live in became a different place.
Being very small at the time, you weren’t aware of what an enormous impact you were already having. You were too busy figuring out how to have a body.
Though you looked pretty harmless, you were already destroying everything in your path. In fact, your very first act upon arrival was to destroy what had been in existence before you got here.
On having your space in an ever changing world
It’s easy to lose perspective and space when going through times of great change.
Things seems to be moving faster every day, as if the planet itself is spinning more rapidly. Life on earth feels more intense these days, with brilliant miracles as well as big challenges showing up daily.
Because of all this intensity, we can get caught up in whatever is right in front of us more easily. This includes the latest news, someone else’s anger or problems or fears, politics, worries about jobs, money, relationships, and other issues that can take over.
On becoming aware: consciousness and unconsciousness
When awareness dawns on you, is it like watching the sun rise?
Upon becoming aware, what had been hidden under cover of darkness is now fully exposed in the light. Once you see it, it’s hard to pretend that it doesn’t exist.
This awareness can be a welcoming thing, and it can be a sudden shock to your system. You may realize truths about yourself or other people that allow you to see things in a new way, and so you grow.
You might need to go through a period of mourning for what was, for your illusions about what existed. Being ‘disillusioned’ simply means you no longer have those illusions. Now you can work from a place of truth, of clarity and consciousness.
Oh for the love of self
The parts of me I loved fiercely as a young girl were my certainty and strength.
At age 5 I was brave, with a fierce sense of right and wrong, and a natural love of myself.
I wouldn't allow any other kid to talk down to me or mistreat me. I owned who I was, and I protected those I cared for. I was respected and popular in my neighborhood.
This changed when I was 7; my family moved to a new neighborhood, and suddenly my old love of self was gone, replaced by a picture of myself as pretender.
Do you have to choose between freedom and approval?
Are you torn between choosing to have what you want, and needing to have others approve of you?
When you don’t have the freedom to choose to create or have what you truly want, you might be giving up your space to fears that others won’t like you if you do the things you really want to do.
If you’re afraid you’ll anger someone or hurt their feelings if you change, you are allowing your need for their approval to control you. You cannot blame somebody else for this. It’s within your power to change it, not theirs.
