Are you allowed to know your own truth?
Are you the one who’s in charge of knowing what’s true for you?
When your truth is inconvenient for someone, they will try to convince you that they know best what’s true for you. If you allow others to convince you that what you know isn't true, you’re letting them curate your truth for you.
Deciding that you are the one with the responsibility to know for yourself, gives you the freedom to act upon what you know. Your knowing gets validated by being made real in your life.
Whose voice is allowed to tell you what the truth is or should be inside of you? Is it your own?
Who owns your crown chakra?
When you own what you know, you own yourself at the 7th chakra, also known as the crown chakra. This includes owning what you know about yourself, who you are, what you love, and what your greatest dreams are.
If another person decided, maybe even before you were born, that they will know for you whatever it is you are ever going to need to know, they are owning your crown chakra. In other words, you're on a need to know basis and someone has already decided you need not know more than has been allotted for you to know.
One example: it wasn’t until 1974 that the Equal Credit Opportunity Act passed in the US, making it possible for women to apply for credit in their own names without a male co-signer. Yes, 1974. Until that year, women in the US were seen as not needing to know how to run their own finances and make their own decisions, or even own their own property, much less their bodies. I was a sophomore in high school, blissfully unaware that this was happening. My mother and her mother and her mother all had to have their husbands co-sign if they wanted credit or a loan, even though all of those women worked and earned a paycheck. That’s generations of programming at a crown chakra level that if one was a woman, one couldn’t know enough about money to be trusted with a loan from a bank in the US.
What do those who want to have us not know gain from you and me not having access to information? Religions, governments, families, groups, corporations, organizations, have all been in the game of deciding what is known and what is not knowable, true, factual, important, or needed. Whose truth runs the nightmarish for-profit healthcare system in the US? Who has decided that climate change isn’t true so therefore can be ignored, despite all the frightening evidence to the contrary?
Is this true for you?
Nobody knows you better than you know yourself.
When you have confusion, doubt, or invalidation about knowing what’s true for you, there’s energy in your space that isn’t yours. If someone in your life gets upset or angry whenever you take a step towards your truth, you have a pretty good idea of who would rather have you know what they know, rather than what you know.
When you do the work required to deprogram the lie of white supremacy from your body and space, you more easily find your truth at the 7th chakra. This is how we will change the abuses of systemic racism, from within ourselves. It is tricky to do this, and it can and must be done. You have to start within, and ask yourself some very tough questions. Begin with this one: who benefits from you believing what they want you to believe, or being unconscious to it?
You create change by choosing to be in charge of your own truth. What we collectively decide is true changes as we decide to do our own work and know for ourselves. This is deep spiritual work, and it’s challenging. This is how we evolve and grow, from within.
What it comes down to is this: who gets to decide what you and I are allowed to know, see, hear, speak, feel, and act upon? Knowledge is power, the truth is something you can know for yourself, and lies will always collapse under their own weight, eventually.
