Grounding changed my life and helped me to heal myself

The day I learned how to ground myself, I felt an immediate sense of relief and knowing.

Until then, I didn’t know what I didn’t know - about what grounding could do for me. I had a vague idea that I needed to learn how to ground, and for a long while it was a big mystery as to how this would happen. Everyone I talked to about grounding had a different take on what it meant. I walked around for about a year saying ‘I need to learn how to ground myself’.

I didn’t consciously know that I was ordering up my first psychic teacher, and then one day she showed up out of the blue. In looking for someone who knew how to teach me how to ground myself, I got so much more. Apparently my spirit had an agenda.

Remember this: there are no accidents or coincidences. Everything you say you want is real, it’s a real ask. It’s good to be specific, and positive.

So I signed up for a psychic meditation class with this teacher, and grounding was the first tool we learned in class. I soon learned that a grounding cord was just the tool I'd been looking for. What’s more, my psychic meditation teacher knew how to teach with a sense of play and fun, something that has always worked for me.

On the road to finding out.

For years I had looked for information about how I could heal myself. I knew that doctors didn't know everything, and I was tired of taking antibiotics. I decided that I could and probably should be more involved in healing myself. I knew that it was possible to do this, but I didn't know how yet. I began looking for my answers.

I learned about herbs, oils, and flower essences. I wrote in my journal, listened to my dreams, and read a lot of books. I changed my diet and began taking supplements. While all of this helped, I knew that something was still missing. I also knew deep within that the information was available, and that I just had to find the key to unlock knowing it for myself.

I was also completely unconscious to the fact that I was taking on other people's energy and running it through me, and that I'd been doing this for as long as I could remember. I knew I felt lousy after talking to certain people, because I'd take on their sadness, bad moods, problems, pain, anger, and all the rest, but I didn't know how to not do this. I felt responsible for everyone and everything. Meanwhile, I'd been walking around telling myself I need to learn to ground. I had this idea that grounding would help me to heal.

Being sensitive to other people's energy.

Ever since I can remember, I have been sensitive to other people's energy, especially their pain. Being female and the first born child in my family, I was raised to be responsible for my siblings, and to help my mother. When I was a child, I could walk into a room and know what everyone in that room needed or wanted. The problem was that I thought it was my job to provide it for them, and to heal them all.

I didn't know it at the time, but I wanted everyone to be well so that I wouldn't have to handle their pain. And so I became an out of control healer at a very young age. I was overly responsible and a control freak, which is a great combination for taking on problems that had nothing to do with me.

Grounding helped me to let go and heal.

It was when I learned to ground myself consciously, instead of grounding everyone around me unconsciously, that I allowed myself to become aware of my spirit, and know my own energy. This was the turning point for me, the moment when I realized that I did have the power within myself to create a new reality, and that it came from the inside out.

Grounding made it possible for me to safely let go of the energy I was taking on, including pain, guilt, and responsibility. I learned to stop matching to the problems I saw around me, and to have my space with other energies that weren't mine.

This in turn made it possible for me to safely turn on my own abilities. I'd been healing others by taking on their pain, which didn't help me at all, and didn't really stop them from taking on the pain they in turn passed on to me. All these years I thought I was being a kind and caring healer, and I hadn't even begun to know what it means to give healing without hurting myself. It was when I began to learn the difference between what is my energy, and within my power to change, and what isn't, that I became a real healer.

Grounding is a gift and a miracle.

All healing is self healing. You heal because you decide to do so, and no one else can force you to heal. Yes, we do have the power to help each other to heal, but a wise and honest healer will understand the difference between what is her responsibility and also what isn't. I'm grateful to have learned the difference between giving and giving away. As a result, I no longer give my energy away unconsciously, and I know I don't have the power to solve other people's problems for them.

Grounding helped me be safe enough to become a professional clairvoyant, and a psychic teacher. Knowing how to ground helps me grow, create my business, say hello to the spirit of others. Grounding myself daily helps me deal with the ups and downs of life. I am still sensitive to other people's energy, but now I know how to deal with it.

Today, after over 25 years of grounding and working with energy daily, I am completely in awe of how a simple technique can transform one's life so completely. I know my energy, health, body, and consciousness are in a completely different place than I might have been if I'd never taken this path. I am grateful that I did.
