Your meditation practice can bring more fun into your life
Yes, meditation is fun!
If you're having fun, you're doing something right. Meditation is one of my favorite practices for bringing more fun into my life.
Is it fun to feel good? Do you enjoy being validated, feeling creative, energized and healthy, being able to decisively take action when you know you want to do so? Do you want to know more about who you are? All of this is about being able to find your own energy, and have your space. Personally speaking, I find all of this stuff fun.
What does your impossible dream look like?
“There is no use trying,” said Alice; “one can’t believe impossible things.”
“I dare say you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” ~Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Many years ago, a serious young man told me that after finishing school and beginning his work life, he realized he wanted to go back and get a different degree in something he found he had a real affinity for. In other words, he was finding his passion. I was happy for him, getting ready to cheer him on, and then…
Dare to be different from all the rest: be yourself
You already are one of a kind. All you really need to do to be different, to stand out in a crowd, is to be yourself.
This works even better if you can also love who you are, and own your own self image. ‘But who am I?’ you may well ask yourself, "can I really be myself?".
It’s your job to find this out. Along the way, others will attempt to help you do this, by telling you who they think you are. Most of them don’t really know, because nobody knows you better than you know yourself.
What if life is a party and you’re invited?
If you want to enjoy the celebration of life, you must show up in person.
It’s hard to enjoy yourself at a party when you don’t feel well, or are grappling with major issues in your life.
You don't feel like being the life of any party when you don't feel good. You don't want to be around people at all, much less a lot of them in a social situation. Your first inclination is to go home, crawl into your bed, and stay there until the storm passes.
Grounding changed my life and helped me to heal myself
The day I learned how to ground myself, I felt an immediate sense of relief and knowing.
Until then, I didn’t know what I didn’t know - about what grounding could do for me. I had a vague idea that I needed to learn how to ground, and for a long while it was a big mystery as to how this would happen. Everyone I talked to about grounding had a different take on what it meant. I walked around for about a year saying ‘I need to learn how to ground myself’.
I didn’t consciously know that I was ordering up my first psychic teacher, and then one day she showed up out of the blue.
Silence and space in the middle of the noise
In this fast moving world, it's a challenge to find space in which to have silence.
Silence is so rare nowadays that when a city dweller goes somewhere quiet and rural, what is often noticed first is 'how quiet it is here'.
