Ain’t nobody’s business if I have peace within
Wouldn't it be nice to live your life without worrying about other people's opinions and judgments all of the time?
What if you didn’t care what others thought about you? Can you imagine the freedom you'd create for yourself by not caring about or needing other people's approval? If you lived unconcerned about the judgment coming from others who have a strong opinion about what everyone else needs to be doing, you'd create a lot more peace within yourself. If you don't give the gossip and uncomfortable judgments a place to land, they can't spread very far.
Reinvent yourself from the ground up
If you’ve been waiting until the time was right to reinvent yourself, what are you waiting for?
There has never been a more perfect time than now. If you’ve been waiting for permission to grow, consider announcing to yourself that the time is now. You don’t have to say anything to anyone else if you don’t want to. You don't have to make it nice and explain yourself and your changes. Just do them.
Sometimes people wait to take big steps until they’re certain that others won’t notice, or mind, or get upset that they are changing.
Embrace the unwanted parts of yourself and find the real you
Try this: get dressed up and go call on your inner demons, the unwanted parts of you.
Invite them for tea and cookies, gluten free if you prefer. Say hello to your unwanted bits when they arrive, and ask them to sit down and join you for a friendly chat.
Be nice, especially if you’ve gone out of your way to avoid them in the past. You might not have felt like being seen with them before.
Give it a try now, it’s worth it. They have some useful things to tell you, so try to listen without judgment.
The art of letting go of perfection
Trying to achieve or maintain a state of perfection can feel like being locked in a cage – one of your own making.
When you are never enough, or can never give enough, no matter how much you give of yourself, you may be aiming for a widely sought after, popular state of being, known as perfection. Letting go of perfection can be tough, and it's possible to learn how to do it.
A bird in a cage may look perfectly content and beautiful, but while in the cage can never access its greatest ability: flight. Are you the bird who has locked yourself away, thereby preventing yourself from being able to access your own ability to fly?
