the art of being psychic
Perfection can really bite
Perfection isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
There’s nothing wrong with aiming for perfection or wanting to be excellent. The desire to get things right isn’t a harmful one, not in the least.
Being your best self means that you’re willing to do the work you need to do to embellish yourself. It's validating and satisfying to know that you did your best. It’s helpful to have a meaningful goal to work towards. It's really fun to grow.
Meditation brings inspiration and helps me manifest my creations
My best creative ideas don't show up when I'm in effort.
I cannot be trying hard in order to have brilliant ideas flowing. If I want gorgeous inspiration to show up and grace me with its presence, I have to relax and let go of any sticky desperate effort energy.
Inspiration is energy, and so are all the beautiful fun ideas that show up. Sometimes I get my best ideas while sitting in my meditation chair, eyes closed, breathing and grounding and releasing old energy. Regular meditation also helps me to have the ideas that show up, instead of judging them or immediately saying ‘no’ because I run into an unconscious fear about my ideas.
Dream a brand new dream tonight
Today is a perfect day to begin dreaming a brand new dream, a beautiful grandiose dream, a dream that can change the whole future of humanity, dream.
When you give yourself full rein to dream, without effort or worry over whether your dreams can become real, you open up to the most prolific creative part of you - your spirit.
As you allow yourself to step into a world you imagine, your powerful spirit gets to work. Previously imagined blocks toward your dreams fall away - you can feel a good dream deeply in your body. Even if it’s not ‘real’ yet in your day to day world, it’s alive and real inside of you. It is your job to protect your dream, and to nurture it, own it, love it.
Stillness opens the door to vision and genius
Finding stillness in your inside world leads you to new awareness, inside and out.
When you handle a constant demand to do, something, anything - it’s difficult to have an awareness of what exists all around you.
Non-stop doing creates an escape from being, seeing, feeling, and experiencing, which is the point, as if one were running away from something. Doing can be an addiction, one that is easily fed in today’s world of non-stop activity. Plus there’s the added bonus of appearing to be virtuous because you’re working so hard. One can become a martyr to doing too much.
The treasure you’re looking for is always within you
Learning about yourself is a life long study.
There’s no limit to how far you can go, once you decide to get going on the road to self knowledge.
Like the colorful ragtag protagonists in ‘The Wizard of Oz’, you can get on your road and follow it to your own Emerald City, looking for treasure. Along the way you might run into a witch or two, as well as some other shady characters. “Oh no!” you might say, “I’m running into obstacles! Will I ever reach my treasure?”. Then one day you ‘arrive’ to find that the treasure you were looking for was always within you.
With spirit there are no borders
Can you imagine a day when human beings can learn to live together without needing to judge, divide, or exploit each other?
Perhaps on that day, we won’t need to compartmentalize each other. When we choose to work with spirit, value judgments won’t be made based on how much wealth a person has been able to amass, or on the color of his skin, the language she speaks, the way each chooses to dress.
We won’t make it our business to worry about the relationships people choose to have, and whether their choices pass judgment.
Making your dreams real is an inside job
It’s important to understand that if you want to be seen in the spotlight, it isn’t the spotlight itself that makes you look good.
It’s not because of the spotlight that you shine. Your light comes from within you. Making your dreams real begins within you. The more comfortable you are with who you are, the easier it will be for you to stand out, and to step into the light.
The better you know and love yourself, the more you allow yourself the permission and space to simply be who you are, the simpler it will be for you to fearlessly step forward and be seen.
Be an artist of change
A student of mine asked me some specific questions about change and how to handle it, and inspired me to write this.
Here’s my take on change and growth, and how to navigate what sometimes feels like a bumpy ride.
It all begins with you: You want to change, and you decide to make positive changes in your life. Perhaps you’ve done this before, maybe many times. Some of the changes you’ve gone through in your life came about as a result of you choosing to change, and some of them might have seemed as if they just ‘happened’ to you. Either way, change is upon you.
How does meditation help you with being psychic?
The word Psychic is traditionally defined as 'of or pertaining to, the human soul'.
A modern definition of psychic would add: 'being psychic means being sensitive to and aware of, energy'. Psychics read the energy of a person, place, event, or situation.
Being psychic is natural and human. Each human being possesses the ability to be psychic, though not everyone is aware of having it, or even wants it.
Energy is the stuff we are all made of. It's in everyone and everything.
Non-resistance is on the table
You know the feeling, sometimes all too well.
You don’t want to be around a certain someone who really bugs you. However, circumstances dictate that you must be in the presence of this person from time to time – perhaps you are related, or you work together. Maybe you live in the same city, and that’s enough.
It’s bad enough when your nemesis seems blissfully unaware of how you feel, and acts as if you were bosom buddies. It’s even worse when your enemy is aware of your discomfort and twists the knife in a little bit more every time you have to be within spitting distance of each other.
When you speak the language of energy
Energy is a language you were born knowing how to speak.
The language of energy is one we all know, though each of us might have a different way of understanding what it means.
Each person has a unique perspective and experience. I have a different way of feeling, seeing, or knowing energy than you. It’s pointless to try to prove energy to anyone else, because of this uniqueness.
Trying to prove energy to someone is like trying to prove what you feel.
Being psychic doesn't have to make sense
Sometimes it doesn’t make sense.
It can’t be proven to anyone. It may not seem practical, but sometimes you can't ignore that feeling, that inner knowing. If you're trying to make sense of your instincts about something, you’ll miss the chance to receive the valuable information you’re receiving.
It may not be a pleasant feeling, like when someone is lying to you and you know it. Or perhaps a dream you had was so strong and real to you that you wanted to follow its message. It might be inconvenient – here you had all these plans so nicely drawn up, and something within you is telling you to change them, and that something is hard to ignore.
